Professor Paul Rolland (1911-1978) was the founding editor of The American String Teacher, and one of ASTA's pioneering pedagogues. His brilliant work helped to revitalize string teaching in America at a time when it was in disarray. He is universally recognized as one of the most innovative leaders in string education; his method for teaching string technique is internationally recognized as being among the most effective available. The Teaching of Action in String Playing, developed and directed by Paul Rolland, is the internationally famous pedagogical series for string educators. This most thorough, systematic and scientific approach to string teaching, the best of its kind, is based on years of research and movement studies. It has been translated into a beautiful series of fourteen color films and videocassettes, now available on DVD with over 80 topics that can be accessed with the DVD remote.
